Visually Speaking

We highly suspect that this theme isn’t playing very well with other people’s computer screens and browsers. So if this is the case, please tell us. We’re probably supposed to know what your resolution is, browser, and if your “viewing” preference is set to big or small or average, etc. Maybe we don’t need to know that.

This theme is supposed to be 3 columns and they are supposed to all show up at once in a row. It isn’t supposed to have one column blank but showing up towards the bottom of the page or any strange overlapping, etc.

Uggh. Sometimes it appears the way it is supposed to for us and other times it doesn’t. Now we’re thinking it is more problematic than we thought, i.e. it isn’t just us having these problems. So we’ll have to look into how to fix it or change themes again. We’ve only made baby steps in learning to create our own personal theme.

So if you’d like us to know how it appears to you, then please feel free to do so.

in firefox, windows xp, 1280×1024, there are three columns side by side but the rightmost column is separated from the others by about two inches, and flush with the right of the page.

if you have a lot of patience you can edit the css. but it is a pain to check it in both browsers at various screen resolutions (and i have no access to a mac, so i’ll never be able to know how it looks there). in my opinion, 3 columns can still overwhelm the smaller resolutions in use (unless the columns are so skinny as to be ridiculous.)

WOW. Stunningly beautiful template. I love the blues on it. Man. This is gorgeous. That’s the first thing I thought about when I clicked over here and saw it. Absolutely stunning template.

I’m using FF and it looks great. I see myriad’s point about it being slightly off but it still looks great to me. I can’t get over the blues.

One more thing. Should I be able to move your stuff around? I just moved your widgets around. Should I be able to do that? If so, how cool is that….to view your blog the way I want to. That’s awesome if it’s suppose to work like that. If not, um, sorry for jacking up your settings.

I have IE and for me it’s not three columns. There is one on the top left with an empty blue patch next to it. I had to scroll down to find the other two columns. Don’t ya just love computers!! They make me crazy!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Just a brief note to say that we changed to a different theme. It isn’t all that pretty with graphics or photos, but it works for now. We didn’t have to do a lot of modifying to it and it looks fine in both browsers (as far as we can tell), and so this is the one we’ll be using for a little while. We know there are many other themes out there but we didn’t want to pick something else that would require a lot of changes to the colors, photos, etc. This is because we are so color sensitive to what’s on our journal/blog, and also sensitive/particular (in a way) to other photos and designs, etc. that are connected to ‘us’ and ‘our journal’, and so this is what we ended up with for now. We just don’t have the energy or time right now to deal with a theme that requires a ton of modifications to it for it to ‘feel okay’ for us to have on our journal.

    Thanks again!
